David Brooks: “A shroud of political correctness settled over the conversation”
David Brooks reports and analyzes what happened after the Fort Hood massacre.
He explains that this wicked deed was done by one of a minority of Muslims who has accepted the evil narrative that Islam is at war against Christianity and Judaism, a narrative that leads to terroristic massacres, as it did at Fort Hood. The conversation afterward involved denial of reality. It had the good intention of seeking to prevent the yahoos from going on an anti-Muslim rampage, but it obscured reality. It is not a serious response to what happened, he says. He explains that it was like kindergarten teachers seeking to control their little pupils, by speech unrealistic to adults.
